Founders log, day three.
Day two was filled with meetings, but I still found myself on the couch late at night working on both the nano-SaaS and micro-SaaS projects.
While I had drafted much of what was needed for the nano-SaaS cohort in Solo School, I wanted to start building some micro-features for myself, so last night I built the spec and prompt generator for the nano-SaaS cohort. This is allowing me to pump out tools much more quickly and effectively than before, essentially letting me convert my entire library of workshops and workbooks into a set of software tools in under an hour each.
This is also the framework for the nano-SaaS generator, which will come later in Q1 or Q2.
Then I used this workflow to build out my entire specifications file, some Cursor rules files for the project, an implementation plan, and a development punchlist.
Today, I hit the ground running and ready to go.
My first project was to turn an existing tool into a nano-SaaS so I could demonstrate the process for people. A few years ago, I did a copywriting masterclass that is STILL referenced by multiple people. I chose to do that first.
I used the spec prompt generator to create my starter prompt for Claude, downloaded my rules.md file from the generator, plugged it into Claude, and 45 minutes of actual work (give or take another hour of getting distracted) later…

I had turned a workbook into a guided copywriting journey using my frameworks and methodologies, with no AI assistance to the user – just their own words, guided through the process.
It walks you through what my workbook used to do, and then uses my frameworks and your own words to guide you through writing your copy. It’s not perfect, and it still needs some polish, and frankly an AI version of this might even be preferable for some people, but I turned a whole workbook into a tech tool in 45 minutes of active coding time.
Do that five years ago.
Now I’m going to release this beta version to the world and let them play with it while I continue working on ALEX, because that is the REAL project and it needs my attention.
I basically spent the entire rest of the day doing software installs and configuring Docker, because this part can be complex and I want to ensure everything I need is installed properly from the start. A couple of hours in and we’re done and ready to start moving the initial codebase into the VPS, but it’s 7pm and it’s time for some food. I’ll see you again tomorrow for another Founder’s Log.
